Link’s Awakening

Link’s Awakening, one of the prime titles of the Game Boy and Game Boy Color. Claimed as one of the best portable Zelda’s even today, Link’s Awakening still proves to be a tough contender even against the likes of The Minish Cap, and A Link to the Past + Four Swords.

It is said that Link was traveling the great sea seeking adventure to highten his skills. His ship gets lost in a storm and Link wakes up unconscious on Koholint Island. After recovering his sword, he meets with a strange owl who says that his only hope of return was to wake the Wind Fish.

The game contains several Mario references such as the Yoshi-like egg at the top of Koholint Island, Goombas at rare side-scrolling sequences.
