Zelda Game Review: Phantom Hourglass

The Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass was the first Zelda game I ever played. I didn’t get much satisfactory of it since I was new to the gaming world, but as my Zelda queue progressed, I started to think it was a great game (though Metroid Zero Mission whoops it’s tooshy).

Phantom Hourglass is a direct sequel to Wind Waker. Same animation, same characters, different system. Phantom Hourglass was Link’s first adventure on the Nintendo DS (and so far the only). I think that they made PH for DS because they finally realized that they had made a Zelda game for every other Nintendo system out there except the DS lol.

Link is sailing with Tetra (Zelda’s pirate figure) and her crew looking for a ‘ghost ship’. When they finally encounter the ship, Tetra hops aboard it. There is a scream and the Ghost Ship starts to move. Link jumps and grabs the edge of the ship but falls off. He then proceeds to be found by Ciela, a fairy, on Mercay Island.

This was my first DS game. I got it the first day I got my DS. Even though I didn’t really like it at the start, I ended up really enjoying it.

8.5/10
