Triforce624 Article: Minish Cap review

The Minish Cap and the Twilight Princess had the biggest animation change I’ve personally ever seen. As some of you out there might know, the Minish Cap came right before TP. The Minish Cap had animation equivalent to A Link to the Past, and yet, Twilight Princess came right after it. Amazing, simply.

I first wanted Minish Cap right after I heard about it. I had heard that it was a great game (which it turned out all too well to be), and that I should be playing it by now (I had been a ZELDA fan for quite some time before I heard about MC).

The gameplay… awesome. I think that without pressing A on the GBA (or DS, for that matter), shrinking down to Picori size takes too long of a while. But experiences at Minish size (Minish and Picori are interchangeable) are very adventurous, so it’s worth while.

The bosses, I’ve only done one… the Big Green ChuChu. He takes some tactical strategy to beat, but he’s an interesting boss. I almost died when he died, for when he fell on me for the final sword swipe I only had half a heart left. What I like about the Zelda bosses is that in the Dungeon you get an ability or weapon. The boss, at the end of the dungeon, makes you test that ability. For example, in Phantom Hourglass, Blaaz puts your boomerang to the max, Link’s Awakening, Moldorm makes you jump often.

Over all, this is a great game. I would highly recommend it for GBA or DS owners. It’s a great example of Nintendo’s Shigeru Miyamoto driving his creativity to the maximum.
